Hospital de oribigo

Hola! Today I walked just under 30 kilometers from Leon to hospital de oribigo.  It was a long walk, took about 8 hours,  and still recovering from jet lag I am very tired. Other than a few blisters and a few sore muscles things are going well! Just had a vino tonto (red wine) with a woman from Italy and found out we have the same birthday! Small world. No pictures on my phone today, but on the camera. Tomorrow I will walk the 10 or so kilometers to Astorga and make a decision from there as to how much further to go since I'm ahead of schedule already.

Leon

Hola! I arrived in Madrid today and following a hectic time finding my train I had the most pleasant ride up to Leon. This evening I will be sleeping in a convent that doubles as an Albergue.  Took a much needed shower and had dinner with a woman from London and a woman from Florida currently living in Madrid. I am looking forward to understanding the experience they are talking about when I begin walking tomorrow. I will be sure to let you know where I end up! Below are a few pictures from Leon.

Leaving!

I am currently on the train from Poughkeepsie to NYC. It is always hard saying goodbye to family, but that's the way it goes! This time tomorrow I should be drinking rioja and eating tapas in Leon, Spain.

Final preparations

Today I made most of the final preparations today. A final test hike along the hudson was wonderful! Tomorrow i will print out my confirmations and make copies of my cards and passport. Tuesday i will be off with a flight overnight into madrid and a train to Leon prior to me beginning my camino!

A few days late but here are some pictures!

So the past few days have been wonderful! There have been many opportunities for me to get out in the woods which is what I was looking for most! I have logged many miles of trail running and hiking. I am attaching a bunch of photos. Along with being in the woods my family and I have been enjoying Trapp Family Lager and shut the deli/brewery down watching the world cup final the other day!

From Ithaca to Vermont

Made the long 6.5 hour drive from ithaca to vermont today. Spent the evening with a friend Mike at his camp. We spent the time shooting, earing and lighting off some fireworks. Will post pictures of Trapp Family Lodge tomorrow!
